Implementation project of urban sludge thermal drying STC system by low temperature drying and gasification of sludge PTAS Trebal Mapocho (Chile).

Characteristics:

This works project contemplates the sludge drying at low temperature to the quality of optimal resource for subsequent recovery, considering among the best alternative techniques and viable, energy recovery using advanced gasification technologies and obtain syngas (also known as syngas) which will be valued energy through cogeneration engines on which the maximum thermal apr ovechamiento to get the most useful heat index of infrastructure Biofactories be held. The project is part of the Development Plan for Adaptation to Biofactories plants sewage treatment in Greater Santiago and resource management generated, which pursues the objectives of:

  • Global energy autonomy
  • Minimizing the amount of residues
  • Minimizing environmental impacts

In the scope of this project also it includes calculations of processes, units treatment worksand hydraulic calculations considering different times of operation.

The main characteristics of the planned infrastructures are:

  • Transport of dewatered sludge heat drying sludge – Up to 15 tons/h/line (1 line per silo – 4 silos)
  • Thermal sludge drying (hour capacity)- 23,99 t/h/line (2 lines)
  • Transport of dry sludge prior to gasification Lung n sludge – 8.2 t/h (2 lines)
  • Gasification of dried sludge – 7,46 tn / h (total in 3 pyrolyzers)
  • Cogeneration by syngas in motors at 100% load and at 92,5% load – 6,256 MWeh; 5,386 MWeh
  • Combustion of syngas – 15,75 MWth
  • Peripherals for sludge drying system and the system gasifiacación – All systems necessary for good mechanical, electrical, hydraulic operation, pneumatic, instrumentation and control, communications, safety and protection against fire, explosions and mitigation of environmental impacts
  • Olors treatment system in thermal drying of sludge
