Once again IDP has been internationally recognized in the innovation sector, being awarded with the development with the investigation project known as ‘DOF. District of the Future’ in the frame of the 7th Framework Programme of Research and Development (ICT-2013.6.4 Optimizing Energy Systems in Smart Cities) of the European Union, that aims to develop an ICT based solution to improve the electricity monitoring, management and consumption in midsize European cities.
The project has been awarded to an international consortium of 7 companies that represent 4 different nationalities: Dalkia and EdenWay from France; VTT and Fortum from Finland, and Telefónica and IDP from Spain, and it is foreseen to be introduced in the cities of Corby in the UK, in Orleans in France and in Sabadell in Spain.
The European Union will finance 3.801.732 euros, this amount will suppose the 60% of the total project amount that will raise up to 6.242.551 euros for the consortium companies.
With this award, IDP consolidates its I+D+i line, being awarded in less than a year with two investigation projects in the frame of the 7th Framework Programme of the EU, being awarded befora with the IPAN project – Innovative Popular Density Structural Panel.
