IDP has developed the basic and executive project in BIM of the terminal and the technical assistance during the execution Works
The new ICL port terminal in the Port of Barcelona, located on the Álvarez de la Campa dock, will begin operating in spring of this year, after the first loading tests with ships.
The terminal, which is part of the industrial project of the Israeli company to develop the mining basin of the Bages region (Barcelona), has had an investment of 77 million euros, and its implementation will allow to face increases in expected load for the next years.
The new facilities will also allow doubling the amount of ore that the company moves from the Bages plants to the Port of Barcelona, to more than one million tons per year, by increasing the frequency and capacity of the Ferrocarrils de Catalunya trains (FGC). The cargo capacity of the ships will go from the current 800,000 tons to almost four million, with the possibility that two ships can be loaded simultaneously.
The facilities have an office building, two warehouses with a capacity for 220,000 tons, 2.7 kilometers of conveyor belts and an internal railway terminal with four 450-meter tracks.
